Program Description:

The Paralegal/Legal Assistant program is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to work in a variety of legal settings.  Emphasis is placed on developing expertise, understanding and preparation of legal documents.  Graduates are qualified to pursue successful careers as legal secretaries in law firms and in legal clerical positions within the federal and provincial governments.

Career Opportunities:

Paralegal/Legal Assistants prepare legal documents and conduct research to assist lawyers or other professionals. Commissioner of Oaths, take affidavits, sign legal documents and perform other activities according to the scope of their practice.

Paralegals are employed by law firms, by record search companies and in legal departments throughout the public and private sectors.

Graduates are qualified to pursue successful careers as legal secretaries in law firms and in legal clerical positions within the federal and provincial governments.
