In addition to the Common Core course required to complete in the program, the following are specific courses pertaining to the Human Resource Management program.

Human Resources Planning, Staffing & Training 3135
Human Resource Management includes the activities, planning, policies and practices involved in obtaining, developing, utilizing, evaluating, maintaining and retaining the appropriate number and skill mix of employees.  All of these topics and more are covered in this comprehensive course designed for the beginning HR professional.

Business Law 2045
This program is designed to give students a general overview of the Canadian legal system, international torts, and negligence.  It also covers things to prevent the legal formation of a contract and ways to dispute them; agency and employment and collective bargaining.

Business Presentations 2045
The ability to present ideas and concepts to a group in a professional, engaging and informative manner is the focus of this course.  Beginning with brief presentations, students will build confidence and methods to successfully complete their final 10-minute presentation.

Event Coordination 3045
This course will examine the full event planning process and provide the tools and strategies to effectively organize, implement, and monitor all the products, services, and service providers that will bring an event to life.

Advanced Excel 2090
This course is designed to give students an understanding of how an electronic spreadsheet can make office productivity more effective by creating formulas, creating charts, and enhancing the worksheet attractively.

Occupational Health and Safety 3045
This program is designed to give students a general overview of the concepts behind safety in the workplace and the accounting for this program.  Topics include historical background of occupational health and safety, workplace hazards and ergonomically planning a work space.

Advanced Access 2045
Students will be able to modify databases to improve efficiency including validation rules and input masks; produce and format/modify sub reports within reports, sub forms within forms, perform update, delete, crosstab and parameter queries.

Labour Relations 3015
The examination of collective agreements and their impact on a business organization is the focus of this course.  Labour unions are one of the most powerful internal forces in a Human Resource Department.  Understanding the implications and regulations of working in a unionized environment is essential for the HR professional.

Introduction to Payroll Administration 2045
Payroll is one of the most important responsibilities of a business.  Students completing this course will be capable of handling all forms, accounting entries and requirements of payroll legislation from the hiring of a new employee to the final record of employment.
