In addition to the Common Core courses required to complete the program, the following are specific courses pertaining to the Hospitality Management program.
Hotel Operations 3045
This course will prepare students as employees in the hotel and lodging industry. It focuses on detailed presentations of each department in a hotel or lodging establishment along with a close examination of organizational structure and the interdependent relationship amount departments.
Tourism Industry Studies 3135
This course gives students planning a career in tourism, an overview of the industry today. It is you understand the roles played by the various sectors of the tourism industry, and to assist you in deciding which of many different career choices best suits you.
Event Coordination 3045
This course will examine the full event planning process and provide the tools and strategies to effectively organize, implement, and monitor all the products, services, and service providers that will bring an event to life.
Business Presentations 2045
The ability to present ideas and concepts to a group in a professional, engaging and informative manner is the focus of this course. Beginning with brief presentations, students will build confidence and methods to successfully complete their final 10-minute presentation.
Customer Sales and Services 2045
This course will provide students with the opportunity to acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence to enter into a rewarding career of customer sales based upon relationship selling
Marketing 2090
An introduction to the essentials of marketing concepts, methods of analysis, strategies and tactics that are critical to managing profitable customer relationships in today’s dynamic and connected business world.
Reservation Systems 3090
Computerized reservations packages are an industry standard. This course familiarizes students with the terminology, codes and passenger information required to reserve airline tickets, hotels and vehicles by creating electronic itineraries in an actual on-line simulator.
