Business Programs
Atlantic Business College’s Business Management program will assist students in developing the key essential skills to transition into various areas of the business sector. Students have the option of choosing from several electives in which to concentrate within the Business Management program including, Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality, Human Resources, and Marketing.
All students attending Atlantic Business College are required to complete a series of core courses in their respective programs that are designed to provide a common foundation of knowledge. This Common Core ensures that the student acquires a sound technological and practical foundation of skills that employers are seeking.
CORE COURSES
Keyboarding 1045
This program is designed to assist students in mastering the alphabet and numeric keyboard, speed and accuracy, and formatting of letters and memos.
Microsoft Office Suite 1045/90
Instruction is offered in computer functions, terminology and structure. Current software packages as WordPerfect for Windows and Microsoft Word are used. Students also become familiar and comfortable with spreadsheets, databases, presentation and communications using Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Financial Accounting 2090
An introduction to financial accounting beginning with the introduction of debit and credit applications and moving on to adjusting entries, cash control and the study and understanding of important GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Computerized Accounting - ACCPAC Simply Accounting 2090
An in-depth study of one of the most popular small business accounting packages. Students will learn how to create new companies, create daily entries in all modules, print financial and managerial statements, import & export information, and use the internet capabilities of ACCPAC Simply.
