Advanced Microsoft Word 2090
This course will provide you with the opportunity to acquire the skills, knowledge and confidence to utilize Advanced Microsoft Office Word’s interface. You will learn to create and edit text and revise documents. You will have the ability to create and manage professional documents using mail merge, macros, graphics, advanced tables, formulas, breaks, tabs, forms and subdocuments.
Advanced Access 2045
Students will be able to modify databases to improve efficiency including validation rules and input masks, produce and format/modify sub reports within reports, sub forms within forms, perform updates, delete, crosstab and parameter queries.
Business Law 2045
This program is designed to give students a general overview of the Canadian legal system, international torts, and negligence. It also covers things to prevent the legal formation of a contract and ways to dispute them; agency and employment and collective bargaining.
Professional Office Procedures 3090
The purpose of this course is to train people to think, to work under stressful and difficult situations, and to perform office duties in a professional manner. Upon completion of this course, students will be prepared for the realistic problems and situations they may encounter in an office.
Advanced Microsoft Outlook 3045
Students will be able to compose, create and organize contacts and distribution lists; manage tasks/assignments and schedule appointments; and work with events. They will also be able to organize and customize the calendar, schedule and respond to meeting requests, create/modify notes and import and export using integration with other programs.
Marketing 2090
Marketing introduces you to the essentials of marketing (key concepts, methods of analysis, strategies and tactics) critical to managing profitable customer relationships in today’s dynamic and connected environment.
Document Transcription 2045
This course is designed to give students a solid understanding of machine transcription. Emphasis is placed on mastering the Dictaphone equipment, punctuation, accuracy and proofreading of transcribed documents.
Desktop Publishing 2045
Desktop Publishing (also known as DTP) combines a personal computer and WYSISYG (what you use is what you get) page layout software to create publication documents on a computer for both large and small scale local output and distribution. Topics covered include Colour Theory, Typography, Spacing and the use of desktop publishing software.
Business Presentations 2045
The ability to present ideas and concepts to a group in a professional, engaging and informative manner is the focus of this course. Beginning with brief presentations, students will build confidence and methods to successfully complete their final 10- minute presentation.
